Viva Nanofractional Radio Frequency Technology

Using fractional RF (radiofrequency) to create microchannels in the dermis we are able to effectively redefine the skin. With this treatment we can reduce scarring, stretch marks, fine lines and wrinkles, large pores and also address laxity.

The treatments may be slightly uncomfortable but not painful. We are able to treat the face, neck, and any other areas of concern. This treatment is safe for all skin types. The energy used during the treatment is customized specifically for your skin, and has minimal downtime depending on the desired effect.

What does treatment feel like and is it painful?

You will feel tiny pins on your skin, followed by a little zap. You will feel intense heat, similar to the feeling of a sunburn. Topical numbing can be used to make a more aggressive treatment more comfortable, but it is not painful.

How long is each treatment?

Depending on the area of concern, treatments range from 15 – 30 minutes.

How many treatments are needed?

Depending on patient concerns, 3 – 4 treatments are usually recommended.

How often do I need to do treatments?

Treatments are done every 4 weeks.

When will I see results and are they permanent?

Results continue to improve after your last treatment. You will see optimal results 3 months post treatment. As we continue to age, it is recommended to do maintenance treatments every 6 months as needed.

What results are expected?

We anticipate a smoother texture, smaller pores and a reduction of wrinkles, laxity and scarring.

Who is a good candidate?

Patients with signs of skin damage, including deep acne scars, wrinkles, visible pores, stretch marks and other texture concerns, as well as laxity and surface pigmentation.

Is it safe for all skin types?

Yes, the Nanofractional Radio Frequency Technology is safe for all skin types, even darker ones.

Is there any downtime?

Depending on the intensity of the treatment there may be a short period of downtime. For the first 24 hours your skin will be red and sensitive. It feels similar to a sunburn. Your skin may crust in a pin pattern, and these will slough off naturally over the next 3 – 5 days. Please do not exfoliate your skin until these have come off. With an aggressive treatment you will see more crusting. Treatment may bring up acne that is under the skin and you may have a breakout occur. You may also see white bumps appear but these will go away after a few days.

Do I need to do anything after my treatment?

Avoid the gym and hot showers for 2 days after your treatment. It is important to leave the skin for 24 hours. Please do not apply any creams or even water, and avoid touching or scratching the skin. After 24 hours you may resume a gentle cleansing routine and resume wearing make-up. Avoid Retinols, AHAs and BHAs and anything that may irritate the skin until the crusting has sloughed off. After that you may resume your normal skincare. It is important to apply sunscreen (SPF30 or higher) everyday to maintain results and avoid sun damage.

Patients should not be treated if they have a pacemaker or defibrillator, or any other electrical implant in the body, if they are pregnant, breastfeeding or trying to become pregnant.
Patients should wait to do treatment if they have had any surgeries in the area within 3 – 6 months, cosmetic injections within the last 2 weeks or recent chemical peels or resurfacing treatments.
