Botox & Nuceiva

Neuromodulators (commonly know as Botox, Nuceiva, etc.) are used to temporarily freeze muscles to reduce or eliminate lines created by dynamic movements. It is used both cosmetically and therapeutically.

Common cosmetically treated areas are crow’s feet, frown, brow lift, bunny lines, forehead, chin and DAO’s. Common therapeutically treated areas are for Migraines, Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating), and TMJ.

The goal is to have a smoother, refreshed looking skin with a softening or elimination of wrinkles. This treatment is safe for all skin types and has no downtime.



What does treatment feel like and is it painful?

Treatments are very comfortable – even for those afraid of needles! Both Dr. Samuel Vijayan and Dr. Mathews Manampuram prioritize patient care and are very gentle injectors.

How long is each treatment?

Treatments are between 10 – 20 minutes.

How many treatments are needed?

Treatments are continuous.

How often do I need to do treatments?

Treatments are recommended every 3 – 4 months.

When will I see results?

Results can be seen as early as a few days. Optimal results are seen 2 weeks post treatment.

What results are expected?

We anticipate a noticeably smoother, refreshed looking skin.

Who is a good candidate?

Patients with concerns with dynamic wrinkles, gummy smiles and the goal of a more refreshed appearance are good candidates.

Is it safe for all skin types?

Yes, this treatment is safe for all skin types!

Is there any downtime?

There is absolutely no downtime. You may have a few red spots after treatment but those should subside within 15 minutes. Any time there is a needle involved, there is a risk of a bruise. It is recommended to avoid alcohol, aspirin and some other medications prior to and after treatment to limit bruising.

Do I need to do anything after my treatment?

Avoid the gym, hot showers, and massages for the day. Please use a gentle cleanser to wash your face and avoid Retinols, AHA’s and BHA’s and other irritating products after your treatment. You may return to your normal routine the following day.


Patients should not be treated if they are pregnant, breastfeeding or trying to become pregnant or if they have a neuromuscular disorder.
Patients should wait to do treatment if they have had any surgeries in the area within 3 – 6 months or until completely healed.
