Hyaluronic Acid

Dermal fillers (commonly known as Juvederm, Revanesse, Teosyal, etc.) are a hyaluronic acid gel and are both biocompatible and biodegradable. Fillers are commonly used to address volume loss, asymmetry and to enhance contours for a more defined shape. Our Physicians will determine the correct products and the placement based on your wishes and their expertise. Through skilled injection we can redefine the aesthetics of the face and gracefully turn back the clock on ageing.

The goal is to provide a natural, aesthetically pleasing result that helps the patient look and feel refreshed. This treatment is safe for all skin types and has no downtime.

What does treatment feel like and is it painful?

Treatments are fairly comfortable – even for those afraid of needles! Both Dr. Samuel Vijayan and Dr. Mathews Manampuram prioritize patient care and are very gentle injectors. Filler has lidocaine in the product to make it more comfortable. When treated lips, a topical numbing is always used.

How long is each treatment?

Treatments are between 30 minutes to 1 hour depending on the treatment plan and the number of syringes used.

How many treatments are needed?

Based on patient goals, a treatment plan is created by the Physician. Once the treatment plan is complete, it is recommended to come yearly for a touch-up.

How often do I need to do treatments?

Depending on the area. Areas that do not move such as temples, jawlines, cheeks, etc, tend to last for a year and a half to 2 years. Lips tend to last 3 – 6 months but can last longer with continuous treatments.

When will I see results?

Results can be seen immediately! Best results are seen 2 weeks to a month post treatment, once the filler has fully integrated.

What results are expected?

Expectations are discussed with your Physician based on your treatment goals.

Who is a good candidate?

Patients with volume loss, asymmetry and goals for contouring are ideal.

Is it safe for all skin types?

Yes, this treatment is safe for all skin types!

Is there any downtime?

There is minimal downtime with filler treatment. You may have a few red spots after treatment but those should subside within 15 minutes. Any time there is a needle involved, there is a risk of a bruise. It is recommended to avoid alcohol, aspirin and some other medications prior to and after treatment to limit bruising. Swelling will subside 1 – 2 days post treatment.

Do I need to do anything after my treatment?

Avoid the gym, hot showers, and massages for 24 hours. Please use a gentle cleanser to wash your face and avoid Retinols, AHA’s and BHA’s and other irritating products after your treatment. You may return to your normal routine the following day. Do not rub or manipulate the area.

Patients should not be treated if they are pregnant, breastfeeding or trying to become pregnant.
Patients should wait to do treatment if they have had any surgeries in the area within 3 – 6 months or until completely healed, and if they have had recent dental work.
